Les Miserables was a glorious experience for me that lasted on & off for nearly seven years. I performed in front of millions of people all over the world,  over 2000 times. I was also awarded the Joseph Jefferson Award as best supporting actor for my performance in this role. Les Miserables is a towering masterpiece that astounded the world and it was an honour and joy for me to portray the  role of Javert and work with such wonderful performers, producers, directors and technicians. What an amazing trip it was. It is still dear to my heart and an unparalled experience. Below are some reviews and photos and an MP3 of "The Suicide".
Richard Kinsey's rectitude as Javert, his booming voice and precise dominant presence are, pound for pound, those of his worthy opponent, Jean Val Jean, played by Gary Morris.
-Sylvie Drake, Los Angeles Times

The production is saved by the magnificent performance of Richard Kinsey as Javert. I' ve seen three Javerts, and Kinsey's is the first to make the underwritten role fully dimensional. Reason enough to see "Les Miz" again.
-Jonathan Abarbanel , Chicago
Richard Kinsey has found strength and conviction with a deply timbered voice in the role of Javert, who spends much of his life searching out Val jean.
- Daily Variety

Kinsey can act and that coupled with the strength and timbre of his voice forces you to give Javert very close attention. He played the part so well that, very early in the production, it was very clearly understood that Val Jean could never hope to talk his way out of anything with this man. And when he died, he took the audience with him. That's how powerful he was. It was impossible not to feel his pain, his self loathing, his fear. Kinsey is a great, great actor.
-Mike & Sarah Cleveland, Fitchburg Sentinel

Richard Kinsey flexed the rich baritone voice that has given him starring roles in such operas as The Barber Of Seville and Carmen. He  made a lie of the truism that opera singers can't act.
-Bernard Pilon, Saskatchewan, Canada

Nearly stealing the show however, is Richard Kinsey as Javert. His deep booming tones pervade the theatre from his first note, lending the piece it's darkest, most introspective moments.
-Stuart Reid, The Daily Iowan

Richard Kinsey is also a major asset as Val Jean's ardent adversary  Javert, with a wonderfully rich voice and a dynamic ability to convey emotion without telegraphing it openly.
-Travis Michael Holder, West Hollywood Post

Richard Kinsey's Javert is a jagged contrast. His lantern jaw jutting, his face stiff with rage and wrong - headed  righteous indignation. Kinsey is a man you know would be heading some sort of moral majority organization today. But when he sings of Javert's confusion - of the defeat of justice by mercy - Kinsey finds shades of change. He makes you wish that even Javert could have a second chance.
-The Providence Journal Bulletin

Richard Kinsey humanizes the character of Javert as a tortured loner. With his dark sonorous baritone and stubborn jaw. He makes a powerful counterpart. His final "Soliloquy" is vocally and theatrically searing.
-Tony Angarano, Hartford Courant

Richard Kinsey's near - maniacal police inspector Javert, the single minded pursuer of the parole violator Val Jean, is overwhelming in it's righteous frenzy, emulating the physical intensity of a young George c. Scott.
-Tom Titus, Orange Coast Daily Pilot

Javert himself was transformed into a wonderfully sympathetic villain through the gripping vocal skill and massive stage presence of Richard Kinsey.
-Christina Lee Knauss, Sun News
